The judges revealed the finalists of this year’s Sussex Food and Drink Awards, after confirming the thousands of votes from the public.
Brighton boasts two finalists in the competition for Best Butcher 2013/14. Bramptons Butchers and Westdene Butchers will join the other finalists at Awards night, when the winner will be discovered.
The award for Best Eating Experience is judged on the ambience, value for money, whether the food is local and of course the quality. Brighton and Hove has two local contenders: Stanmer House in Brighton and The Foragers in Hove.
The Ginger Pig in Hove has a nominee for Best Young Chef, proving that not only does Brighton serve good food but also encourage young people to get involved with it.
Brighton Farmers Market has been nominated for Best Farmers Market and Infinity Foods has been chosen for Best Farm Shop.
The winners will be announced at the Sussex Food and Drink Awards Banquet, which will be held at the Amex Stadium, on 30 Jan 2014. The awards will be hosted by Olympian, Sally Gunnel and BBC Sussex’s Danny Pike as well as including a Harveys ale and Sussex sparkling wine reception and a seven course banquet made from fresh, local produce.
