By Laurence Thompson

The swashbuckling family pantomime adventure, Peter Pan, is to play at the Capitol in Horsham.

JM Barrie’s Peter Pan is one of the most famous and best-loved stories for children; a magical fantasy that has been enjoyed by generations for over a hundred years.

Steven Arnold, who played Ashley from Coronation Street and has also appeared in an episode of Casualty will feature, playing Captain Hook’s right hand man, Smee.

Arnold’s Coronation Street character was a victim of the tram crash and died as part of the soap’s 50th birthday show in 2010.

Playing the lead role of Peter Pan is Benjamin Pomeroy, 21, who will fly through the Horsham theatre as part of the performance.

Benjamin is currently performing in the UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and he also performed in the memorable closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

James Dinsmore, whose special facial characteristics are sideburns, will take on the role of Peter Pan’s nemesis Captain Hook.

Peter Pan is adapted and directed Nick Mowat, musically directed by John Cornford and choreographed by Laura Craddock.

With such a cast and crew, Peter Pan guarantees first-rate entertainment on the cutting-edge of the artistic vangeist.
