BEXHILL High is organising a huge Christmas community event on Saturday December 14 – and is urging the town to get involved NOW.
The Bexhill High Community Christmas Fayre will be held in the school grounds in Gunters Lane between 10-2pm.
This is all a part of the Academy’s plan to become a much bigger part of Bexhill itself, and to make a more positive impact locally.
Interim Principal Andy Mortimer said, ‘Community is a key word for Bexhill High, make no mistake about that, and this event is key to us.’
‘Hopefully, by organising such a large event for the community of Bexhill, and indeed the surrounding area, it sends out a very powerful message from everyone here at Bexhill High.’
The event is being organised by Adam Hepkin, and he’s urging people locally to get involved.
This is the plan so far:
– Grand opening at 10am.
– Musical entertainment will be provided in the Heartspace from 10.30am.
– A mix of charity stalls, free of charge, and commercial stalls, for which there will be a charge.
– Santa’s Grotto, with presents for each child.
– Raffle, in aid of Surviving Christmas.
– Food and drinks will be served.
‘And that’s only the start of it,’ said Adam. ‘We want to develop this project in the coming weeks so that it really will be an amazing event.’
‘To do that, I need to hear from people and groups who want to be involved. That may mean the person who runs an arts and crafts shop, the charity that wishes to sell its 2014 calendars or Christmas cards, or indeed the school or group that wants to be involved in the various musical contributions.
‘We really do want the community to be involved in this in a huge way, so now is the time to contact us.’
