Rocks are flying high

Bognor remain just outside of the Playoffs despite defeat to Hayes and Reading

Rocks fans remain optimistic about their promotion chances despite losing away to Hayes and Yeading in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

They remain in 6th place level on points with Wealdstone who have a superior goal difference.

With 8 wins in their last 9 matches they have made a steady climb up the league and are in a prime position to make a run for the title.

The highlight of the excellent winning streak was last weekend’s defeat of second place Dulwich Hamlets 4-2 at Nyewood Lane.

Three goals in the final minutes of the game turned what looked like an ignominious defeat into a sensational victory.

2-1 down with only five minutes plus injury time to go striker Ben Johnson won and converted a penalty to level the game at 2-2.

Then Craig Robson sparked wild celebrations as he tapped home after a goalmouth scramble before Terry Dodd put the game to bed with a neat finish in he 5th minute of added time.

The Rocks next home game is away at AFC Hornchurch tomorrow night and they will be hoping to continue their march towards promotion.
