Unsung heroes, the people who go an extra mile, amazing friends, teachers and managers are all recognised in the Herald/Gazette series Community Stars awards.
Five years ago, the Herald and Gazette series launched the Community Stars award. Over the years, scores of people have been recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty to help others and for being a beacon of light in their community.
The winners will be announced at the glittering Community Awards, which is free to attend, and will take place at the Dome Cinema in Worthing on 8th December at 2.30pm. It will be hosted by TV personality Fred Dinenage.
The fourteen categories are:
Carer of the Year, Star of the Community, True Inspiration, Best Volunteer, Charity of the Year, Best Friend, Health Heroes, School Star, Mini Heroes, Sporting Achievement, Super Senior, Arts and Entertainment, Best Community Event and 999 Award.
The coverage runs across all editions of the paper; Worthing, Shoreham, Littlehampton, Lancing and Steyning.
By picking up a copy of The Herald or Gazette you will find a special eight-page pull out where every single person nominated is featured and you can read about what they have done to earn their nomination.
You can vote for which nominee you think should take home the trophy in every category by filling in the form on the back of the supplement or by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org. Make sure you send them in soon as the closing date is 27 November!
