Well this one is for you, National Chocolate Week from the 14th – 20th of October is an extravagant celebration of all things Chocolaty and, an excuse for all chocolate lovers to get well and truly stuck in. With hundreds of events being run all over the country you are sure to find something exciting to do. Whether it is one of the many demonstrations and tours, an exciting chocolate themed menu or an indulgent chocolate spa weekend this is your chance to revel in this most sinful of pleasures. Here is a selection of what’s on offer:
The world-famous Salon du Chocolat Chocolate expo makes its British debut next weekend at the London Olympia. There will be exhibitors from all over the world showcasing their products, and with demonstrations from Michelin starred pastry chefs, dozens of tastings and classes, and even a chocolate fashion show by Europe’s top designers this is truly a chocoholics dream come true. It runs for three days from the 18th-20th and day passes are a very reasonable £18 / £15 in advance.
If you fancy something a bit closer to home there are a number of choctastic treats to enjoy right on your doorstep. Brighton is host to what is probably the most famous chocolate shop in the UK Choccywoccydoodah, whose chocolate sculptures and gargantuan cakes have wowed TV audiences and celebrities for years. Brighton’s award winning vegetarian restaurant Terre a Terre is also getting in on the act they have created the ‘Big Chocolate Menu’ to celebrate all thing chocolate. With a mouth-watering selection of ‘choctails’, deserts and homemade treats such as salt caramel chocolate churros and champagne truffles this is certainly the perfect place to get your chocolate fix .
If you are looking for the ultimate romantic escape Divine Chocolate have teamed up with Mercure hotels, and London’s K-West Hotel and Spa to create some amazing Spa packages. One example includes an overnight stay for two with breakfast, chocolate spa experience and, you guessed it a chocolate themed dinner in one of their restaurants. Another quirky bolthole is The Chocolate Boutique Hotel, located just along the coast in Bournemouth it is the world’s only Chocolate hotel. With 13 rooms all rooms all boasting a unique theme and decoration this is a perfect year round escape for the chocophile in your life.
