On Saturday March the 9th Pestalozzi, a charity based in Brighton, is setting up an International day at the Swiss Hall in Sedlescombe.
They are giving everyone the chance for a trip around the world without leaving Sussex. Of course, I don’t quite mean literally, but for all interested in other cultures there will be an endless array enjoyable activity.
Pestalozzi is an organization that works with countries where there is a lack of access to education. Following a series of criteria checks to see if the students will cope with the International Baccalaureate Diploma, the charity organises for the students to enter into the UK. They are then able to benefit from the educational opportunities that are available here.
The workshops Pestalozzi are providing on Saturday afternoon give an insight into the countries that the students have come from. This will include a question and answers session with the students that will tackle all queries ‘no question is too big or too small!’ The festivities will begin at 1pm with a £5 taste-bud trip around the world, as lunch is served, the profits from which will go towards the charity. In the afternoon face painting and natural Henna tattooing for children and adults.
The last open day attracted many people from different walks of life, and hopefully this Saturday will be the same. All are welcome to this fun filled afternoon!
When: Saturday 9 March, 1-4pm
Where: Swiss Hall, Pestalozzi, Ladybird Lane, Sedlescombe, TN33 0UF
