Hanover residents are in a dispute with a pub over plans to turn the London Unity brewery into flats.
The building has been under threat since Alan Leach, the landlord for over two years, declared he will quit the award-winning establishment.
The Whitbread Group’s controversial deliberation has sparked a Twitter campaign to save the pub. The petition is headed by a potential buyer who hoped to keep the pub in working order.
The campaign has enabled the public to voice their opinions and discuss possible solutions. Paul Reed, who is a regular at London Unity, shared the views of other Hanover residents when he said: “I think that it’s a shame that a family pub would be removed from our community.”
